The AIRC Foundation, long dedicated to cancer research and prevention, is taking its mission a step further by embracing technology to raise awareness and make donations more accessible. With this goal in mind, AIRC has partnered with Metadonors, Uptek, and Livesignage to bring an ambitious and innovative project to life: an interactive totem featuring a large touch display and a second, smaller screen integrated with a POS device. Installed at Naples Airport, this totem is more than just a technological device: it’s a powerful tool designed to engage travelers in the fight against cancer and facilitate immediate donations.
The heart of the project: A synergy of expertise and values
This project is the result of a collaboration between three organizations that share the same vision. Metadonors, Uptek, and Livesignage have worked together seamlessly to create an effective solution for communicating AIRC’s message while maintaining the highest standards of excellence.
Metadonors, experts in donation management, provided cutting-edge technology that enables a smooth and secure integration with AIRC’s systems. Uptek brought its design expertise to the table, crafting a custom-made, elegant, and durable case for the interactive totem. Meanwhile, Livesignage not only developed a robust and flexible dedicated app - Live Survey - but also contributed its extensive experience in content design and strategic consulting to shape the project’s messaging and user experience.

An experience beyond technology
Designed to capture attention and engage users, the interactive totem is much more than a piece of tech: it’s a carefully crafted experience. With its sleek, modern, and minimalist design, the totem blends seamlessly into the airport environment, thanks to Uptek’s custom-made white casing. The 43-inch portrait touch screen is perfect for displaying dynamic and interactive content.

The content displayed on the screens was carefully designed, illustrated, and animated with one goal in mind: to create an emotional connection. Short illustrated videos highlight the impact of cancer research and the crucial role of donations in advancing progress. Every detail was meticulously planned to deliver a clear and compelling message that invites users to take an active role in this important cause.
Interaction goes beyond passive viewing. With a simple tap, users can engage with interactive content, including themed quizzes focused on cancer prevention. Topics such as nutrition, smoking, UV protection, and lifestyle choices provide an engaging and educational journey that strengthens the connection between AIRC’s message and the user.

The experience culminates in the opportunity to make an immediate donation using the second, smaller touchscreen and an integrated POS device. Every donation is an act of trust and hope, made seamless through a user-friendly interface and a secure system developed in collaboration with Metadonors.
