A Playlist in digital signage is the ordered sequence of slides, media files, web sources, apps, and interactive widgets that plays on a display. The playlist is the fundamental unit of signage content: every screen runs at least one playlist at any given time, scheduled by time of day, by trigger, or by user selection.

In Livesignage, playlists are the central abstraction in the no-code editor. They can be simple sequences, composite multi-zone layouts, data-driven feeds that update from external sources, or mobile playlists delivered to smartphones via QR/NFC. Playlists support sub-scheduling per zone, conditional content based on Flow triggers, and per-display targeting through groups and Multiaccount hierarchies.

Use Cases

Playlist patterns across signage scenarios:

- Retail in-store: branded loops with promotional slides and product highlights.
- Corporate: rotating dashboards, internal announcements, KPIs and welcomes.
- Restaurants: day-parted breakfast/lunch/dinner playlists with menu items.
- Transport: real-time schedules, alerts, and advertising in composite layouts.
- Mobile playlists: dedicated sequences for smartphones via QR code and PWA.
